01Who is responsible

daudlawrence.com is the personal website of Daud Lawrence, Semantic SEO Specialist. I am responsible for the personal data collected through this site. This is a personal knowledge base: it is not operated by Digital Versify, and it does not sell any product or service.

02What this site collects

Very little. In short:

• Analytics data, only if you click Accept on the cookie banner.
• Your cookie choice, so the banner does not ask you again on every page.
• Your email and message, only if you write to me.
• Standard technical logs kept by the web host for security.

There are no contact forms, comment sections, accounts, newsletters or advertising on this site.

03Analytics

With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand which pages are read and how visitors find them. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location (country or city), and your device and browser type. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

Analytics does not run until you click Accept. If you click Deny, or close the banner, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google Analytics. You can change your choice at any time using the Manage consent tab on any page.

Analytics data at the level of individual visits is kept for 2 months, after which only anonymous totals remain. Google’s own use of this data is described in Google’s privacy policy.

04Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies: one set that remembers your cookie choice, and the analytics cookies described above, which are only set if you accept them. The full list, with what each cookie does and how long it lasts, is in the Cookie Policy.

Fonts on this site are stored on this site itself, so loading a page does not send your details to Google Fonts or any other font service.

05Email

If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. I use this only to read and reply to your message. It is never added to a mailing list or shared with anyone else.

I keep correspondence for as long as the conversation needs, and then for no longer than two years, unless a longer period is required by law. Email is handled by my email service providers, including Google.

06Hosting and security logs

This site is hosted by Hostinger. Like all web hosts, Hostinger records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to keep the site running, secure and protected from abuse, and is kept for a limited period set by the host.

07What this site does not do

• It does not sell, rent or trade personal data.
• It does not show advertising or use advertising or marketing cookies.
• It does not build profiles of visitors or make automated decisions about anyone.
• It does not knowingly collect sensitive personal data.

08Legal bases

Under UK and EU data protection law, each use of personal data needs a legal basis:

• Consent for analytics cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interests for replying to your email and for keeping the site secure.
• Legal obligation where the law requires information to be kept.

09Where data is processed

I run this site from Lahore, Pakistan, so the limited personal data described here, such as emails you send me, is accessed from Pakistan. Google may process analytics and email data in the United States and other countries, and Hostinger stores the site on its servers.

I keep the data involved to a minimum, access it only through secure, password-protected accounts, and rely on each provider’s own safeguards for international transfers.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you;
• ask me to correct or delete it;
• object to, or ask me to restrict, how it is used;
• withdraw consent to analytics at any time, using the Manage consent tab.

If you are in the United Kingdom and are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. Elsewhere, you can contact the data protection authority in your country.

This site is written for professionals and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If the way this site handles personal data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
